Cheeky | Holborn

Last week I was lucky enough to spend the day at Cheeky in Holborn as part of an event we were holding at work. I took my camera along, originally to take some pictures for our website, but as they came out really well and I had a great experience there, I'm sharing them with you.

Cheeky is a little salon in between The Hoxton and Chicken Shop, two places I haven't actually been to, but you somehow just know they're one of those cool places to hang. I've been in London a lot this month (hence the lack of blogging - sorry!) and love finding new places to go that I can share with my pals.

As I mentioned above, I was at Cheeky as part of an event with work, but I managed to squeeze in a manicure on my lunch hour - which I was obviously thrilled about. If there's anything I love, it's being pampered! I usually do my own gels so it was a massive treat to have somebody else do my nails. Plus I was able to choose a shade that wasn't one of my over-worn three shellac colours. I opted for a mink-nude colour because I don't own any similar ones... and y'know, what's more instagrammable than a nude nail?

FYI I didn't get a pic of my grammable nails because it's SO hard to get a good picture of your own hand! I'm not sure if you've ever tried it but if you're fingers are relatively short and stubby, don't go there. You'll just have to take my word for it that it was the perfect colour. I'm tempted to go back just to buy the nail polish.

My manicurist, also called Jess, recommended the matte top coat as the "in" thing that all the cool cats are going for. Being the easily influenced person I am, I decided to try it too and I have to say, I loved it. It's worn off quite a lot now but it's been almost a week so I'm still impressed.

As well as the two London salons, Shoreditch and Holborn, Cheeky also have their own range of beauty products ranging from body care to the obvious nail polishes and nail kits. I've heard good things about the make-up setting spray from my cosmetic-addict sister and also had a friend rave about the body scrub. The use the products throughout a mani or pedi so you can see first hand exactly what they're like - the hand cream smells amazing!

I've got to give a shoutout to the lovely staff working at Cheeky too, they were really accommodating, even during busy periods which helped create a nice chilled vibe. Exactly what you need to relax during a girly pamper sesh.

My favourite part of the salon has to be the pedicure chairs, I love everything about their old fashioned style, especially the hidden sink for your feet. I've never had a pedi before but after watching people come in and out for them all day, I'm now desperate to have pretty feet ready for slider season. I also can't forget to mention how cool the pink neon signs are! I mean, can I have one for my flat please?

Another thing I'd like for myself is one of these funky nail driers, even though I spent ten minutes under here and still managed to smudge my nail. Typical Jess. Never the less they are a fab idea for people less clumsy and heavy fisted than myself!

I know that for many people, like me, a trip to the salon for a manicure is the utmost luxury and not something you have scheduled into your weekly plans. However, if you're ever in the area and feeling flush I'd definitely recommend a "cheeky" trip to this little gem.

Where are your favourite spots in London for a girly treat? Let me know so I can check them out.
